Not only did the website colors and photos get a change, but also the logo for Striving Author too!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The original design of this website was done by a 17 year old. Five years can change tastes somewhat, which is what I would like to reflect in how it&#8217;s seen now. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let&#8217;s take a quick look at what&#8217;s all new!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">&#8220;Old&#8221; Version of Website<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video height=\"480\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 852 \/ 480;\" width=\"852\" autoplay controls loop muted src=\"https:\/\/strivingauthor.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Old-Striving-Author-Smaller.mp4\" playsinline><\/video><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">*Video Taken on 06\/16\/26 &#8211; Recent Version before updates!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:21px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The video above shows the most recent version of the website! It&#8217;s got a few of the updates I planned, with some of the new pictures you see now. As you can tell, the colors of the website are very heavy on the pink and blue\/teal colors. At the time of designing the website, I was very into these two colors. Still am, but it is definitely a <em>choice<\/em> for the website.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, I&#8217;ve picked a color scheme that is a little less &#8220;in your face&#8221;, which also is reflective of where I am now in my life journey. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You&#8217;ll also notice some new header pictures as well! From the very first version of this website, it was all just one header picture. Then came all the individual shots of me, which as time went on, felt a little bit <em>too<\/em> much of me. As you can see in the version above, it was like every page (but the books) had a picture of me. Even the &#8220;Books by L.A.&#8221; actually had a picture of me holding two of my books as recent as a week ago! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As much as I think y&#8217;all like seeing my face, this had to go! Even I didn&#8217;t want to see my face as much as it was plastered all over the place &#8211; if I thought it was too much, it was too much. The old design reflected a focus on just me, myself, and I, and not on the work\/writings I&#8217;ve done. It wasn&#8217;t bad, but it isn&#8217;t what I would like my image to be. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Change Was Needed!<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>Therefore, some work went into making Striving Author reflect the person writing today!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:14px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 1: The Logo!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Striving Author has come a long way from the first logo she had. Again, the design of everything started from the stylistic choices of a 17-year-old. Therefore, not <em>every<\/em> design choice was a timeless one. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Logo #1 (2021-2022)<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>To the right, you&#8217;ll see the OG logo for Striving Author. I cannot begin to tell y&#8217;all how long I worked on creating this logo, imagining it to be &#8220;the One&#8221;. Like, I fully believed she was perfect and everything I ever wanted. <\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/strivingauthor.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Striving-Author-Logo1-1024x1024.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-294\" style=\"width:414px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/strivingauthor.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Striving-Author-Logo1-1024x1024.png 1024w, https:\/\/strivingauthor.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Striving-Author-Logo1-300x300.png 300w, https:\/\/strivingauthor.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Striving-Author-Logo1-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/strivingauthor.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Striving-Author-Logo1-768x768.png 768w, https:\/\/strivingauthor.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Striving-Author-Logo1.png 1032w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>It had:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Pink background<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pink dots<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Very Fancy Handwritten Lettering (yes I did that!)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>But it also had some flaws, like the fact it kind of looks like chicken pox or that the lettering, while cool, was at an angle, inconsistent, and also hard to read on a website. I also wanted to look more professional, as one does at 17, so this was not cutting it in the long run. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This logo lasted about&#8230; five months (LOL). Unfortunately, it just wasn&#8217;t the fit for Striving Author and ended up being axed on New Year&#8217;s Day in 2022. #Gone_but_never_forgotten<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:9px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Logo #2 (2022-2026) (And Every Other One In That Time!)<\/h5>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"500\" src=\"https:\/\/strivingauthor.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/new-logo1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-303\" style=\"width:450px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/strivingauthor.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/new-logo1.png 500w, https:\/\/strivingauthor.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/new-logo1-300x300.png 300w, https:\/\/strivingauthor.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/new-logo1-150x150.png 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Here&#8217;s the logo y&#8217;all are probably most familiar with! It&#8217;s what Striving Author has been known by for a while now. It has\/had everything that Striving Author needed for the last four years!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Clean Design<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Iconic Pink<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Something to Identify Me as a Writer (beyond the name, LOL). <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cursive Writing (Yeah, she stayed!)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Beginning on literally New Years Day 2022, this was what was plastered on EVERYTHING. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was the website icon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was on my Instagram and Facebook pages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My bookmarks featured this logo! My posts all had this logo! EVERYTHING HAD THIS LOGO!<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"500\" src=\"https:\/\/strivingauthor.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Untitled-design-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-575\" style=\"width:306px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/strivingauthor.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Untitled-design-1.jpg 500w, https:\/\/strivingauthor.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Untitled-design-1-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/strivingauthor.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Untitled-design-1-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>This design also got a temporary re-design in 2024 when <em>Elude<\/em> was published. This logo was featured on my social media accounts as a way to promote the book!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I felt like &#8220;normal&#8221; Striving Author&#8217;s evil twin for a bit, not going to lie! It was definitely a fun temporary design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But all good things must come to an end. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This deign started to get &#8220;old&#8221; in my mind. Maybe not yours, but definitely mine. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By the end of 2025, a new design was in store, but it came with it a bunch of questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>Would I abandon the pink colors? Would I keep the simplistic design? I thought maybe I should begin to include my name, books, and make &#8220;Striving Author&#8221; something less prominent. But, honestly, it felt like AI had just spit out these designs without any of my true taste reflected in them (no, these were not AI, but the design just didn&#8217;t feel&#8230; natural, you know?). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So I picked away at these designs to find out what I truly liked about any of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Pink HAD to stay &#8211; it&#8217;s who I am.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>My name needed to be on the logo SOMEWHERE. It&#8217;s time &#8220;L.A. Grabins&#8221; started featuring on the promotional material. It&#8217;s not &#8220;Striving Author&#8221; on my books, is it?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Writing Hand was going to stay&#8230; at least for this update. I&#8217;m not 100% sure it&#8217;s a forever thing, but it&#8217;s certainly a right now thing. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The idea of flowers being integrated into the design was a change I was looking for!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Therefore&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The New Logo!! Here is the new logo of Striving Author &amp; L.A. Grabins!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">For now, this is the logo that&#8217;ll cover ALL of my accounts, promo material, and most importantly, my website. Hopefully it&#8217;s the logo for the upcoming future and will stick around for about as long as the last one. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">As I hoped, the logo now features my Author name with the Striving Author title as well. Plus, it includes everything that I wanted to add in or switch up while staying professional-ish.
